Tufting Glue
Dispersion tufting glue that locks every stitch in place and stays flexible for years. It bonds just like latex glue for tufting – you simply don’t pay the latex price tag. Once dry, it forms an elastic layer, so your finished rug can be washed without worry. Coat the back of your rug, press on the secondary cloth and you have a professionally finished rug.

Rug glue that keeps tufts in place for years
No tufted rug is complete without glue – it’s the glue that holds the yarn in place once the rug comes off the frame. We picked our dispersion rug tufting glue after years of testing: rugs we glued five years ago are still flexible today, with no cracking or crumbling. It works on primary tufting cloth (monks cloth and polyester alike) and bonds secondary cloth reliably.
How to use tufting glue
- Keep the finished rug stretched on the frame and coat the back evenly with glue.
- For contact bonding, apply a thin layer to the secondary cloth as well.
- Let it set for a few minutes, then press the cloth onto the back of the rug – the bond is strong right away.
- Once fully dry, take the rug off the frame and trim the edges.

Why dispersion glue instead of latex glue for tufting?
Many tufters search for latex glue for rugs because it’s the established classic. But latex doesn’t do anything extra – it just costs more. Dispersion glue locks the fibres just as firmly, stays just as elastic after drying, and unlike latex you don’t pay a premium for it. That’s why we use and sell it instead of latex adhesive: the same result at a lower cost per square metre of rug.

What is the best glue for rug tufting?
You need a glue that stays flexible after drying and locks the yarn firmly into the backing cloth. That’s exactly what the dispersion glue in this category does – regular all-purpose glues and hot glue are not suited for tufting, as they crack once dry or fail to hold the fibres.
How much glue do I need?
Plan on roughly 1 litre per 1 m² of rug. Exact coverage depends on how absorbent your cloth is – monks cloth soaks up a bit more than polyester. For bigger projects, the 3× 1 l Value Pack is the better deal.
Can I wash a rug made with this glue?
Yes. Once fully dry, the glue forms an elastic layer that water won’t dissolve. You can wash your rug and clean it regularly.
